EXISTING CONDITIONS
This project included several updates – a kitchen remodel, bath remodel, new hardwood floors, a fireplace refresh and some new minor wood accents in the dining room.
The existing kitchen had white cabinets and tan granite counter tops. A built-in pantry sat adjacent to a cove that housed a refrigerator and cabinets. A kitchen island framed the room.
The three-quarter bath on the main floor had a pedestal sink, shower and toilet.
The living room had built-in shelving units around the fireplace and carpeting throughout.

DESIGN + TRANSFORMATION
KITCHEN REMODEL – The existing kitchen island enclosed the kitchen area and the client wanted to change that. Switching to a freestanding island opened up the kitchen and allowed for better circulation. The wall that previously housed the pantry and refrigerator was cleared out to contain all built-in cabinets and the refrigerator, while a vent hood was added above the stove on the other wall.
The client selected white cabinets for the walls and a contrasting blue island. Blue accents were continued throughout the kitchen, which was paired with white quartz counter tops.
