October Kitchen Remodel

From dungeon to dreamy this kitchen experienced a major upgrade!

Existing Conditions

The existing kitchen on this project was something nightmares are made of. A ceiling soffit was causing an unusually low, uncomfortable ceiling height giving the kitchen a ‘dungeon’ feeling. Additionally, the kitchen had dated white cabinets, brown countertops, a dated tile floor and yellow walls. To say it needed an upgrade is an understatement.

Kitchen Design

The vision for this kitchen was a fresh take on rustic, traditional style. This was accomplished through cabinet design, material selection and integration of open-shelving.

In upgrading the cabinetry the client sought to have two different cabinet styles, one main style then an accent style for the island. These two styles differed in color as well. Open-shelving was added for display.

One critical part of the design was removing the soffit in the ceiling. This would make the kitchen feel more inviting and would also allow for more cabinet space.

Final Results

This kitchen features all new cabinetry, a large island, a new vent hood, new ceiling height, new floors, new countertops and backsplash, accent backsplash at the cooktop, a farmhouse sink and a pot filler.
